Temperature indicator for nuclear reactor pressure vessel

The temp. indicator (1) has two expansion elements (2,3) which are joined (9), made of materials of different coeffts. of thermal expansion, and one expansion element (3) can move w.r.t. a fixing point (4) at the free end of the other expansion element (2), so that differential thermal expansion causes movement of the free end of one expansion element (3), and so passively generates a temp.-dependent mechanical signal. Also claimed are processes of determining the temp. in a reactor pressure vessel (8), and of flooding a reactor pressure vessel (8) and/or its sec. containment (12) using the above temp. indicator (1).
