PURPOSE: To provide a method for continuously producing a polycarbonate resin, capable of reducing stamper stains generated on the molding of optical disks, compact disks, etc., and capable of preventing the generation of white spots on molded products under the environments of high temperature and high humidity. CONSTITUTION: A method for continuously producing an optical polycarbonate resin comprises reacting the mixed solution of an aqueous alkali-solution of a dihydric phenol with an organic solvent with phosgene, while maintaining an oil-in-water type suspension state, passing the reaction solution through an orifice under pressure at a velocity of 100-2500cm/s to convert the suspension into a water-in-oil type emulsion, adding a polymerization catalyst to the emulsion, and subsequently stirring the emulsion to complete the polymerization reaction. Since the production of monomer oligomers can be suppressed on the polymerization reaction, while reducing the residual amount of the terminal chloroformate groups in the polymer which exert adverse influence upon the heat resistance of the resultant polymer the objective polycarbonate resin is useful as a raw material for optical disks and compact disks which require high qualities. |
