SUBUNIT VACCINE AGAINST FLAVIVIRUS INFECTION

The invention provides vaccines capable of eliciting the production of neutralizing antibodies against flavivirus containing, as an active ingredient, a secreted recombinantly produced envelope protein or subunit thereof. In illustrative embodiments, the B domain or the 60 % or 80 % N-terminal portions of the envelope protein (E) of dengue virus are secreted. The secreted product can easily be purified and prepared as a vaccine.
