PURPOSE: To efficiently control the electrostatic charge quantity of toner fluctuated caused by an environment and the like by simple constitution. CONSTITUTION: This one-component developing device is constituted so that the layer thickness of developer on a developer carrier is regulated by using a faced layer thickness regulation member 3. The regulation member 3 is provided so that it can be moved or rotated and the material and the shape thereof is constituted so as to be partially different. Besides, the material of the part thereof contacting with a developing roller 2 or nip width between the roller 2 are varied. The electrostatic charge quantity of the toner by triboelectrification depends on the material of the regulation member 3 and polarity and the electrostatic charge quantity are decided with the order of the electrification rank of a toner material as a reference according to the order relation of the electrification rank of the material of the regulation member 3 to the reference. Besides, the electrostatic charge quantity of the toner depends on the nip width between the roller 2 and the regulation member 3 largely. Therefore, the electrostatic charge quantity of the toner can be controlled by constituting the device in such a way. |
