PURPOSE: To provide the controller of a driving device for a vehicle which recovers braking energy from wheels at the time of decelerating the vehicle and can operate an auxiliary machine and the like even if the supply of fuel is stopped. CONSTITUTION: A controller 50 stops supplying of fuel to an engine 10 when a vehicle is in a decelerating state by the output signal from decelerating state detecting means, generates by a motor generator 40, and can so alter the engaging force of a first coupling mechanism 20 that the number of the revolutions of the engine 10 becomes a predetermined number of revolutions.
