The mower has the axes of the running wheels (48) displaced relative to the centre of gravity of the mower, to alter the bearing pressure point of the cutter (11). The adjustment is effected by continuous displacement parallel to the ground, so that the inclination of the mower remains the same. The running wheels and their axes are supported by a sliding frame with a pair of external lugs supporting the running wheels, joined together by a cross member, with a pair of sliding rails for the mower drive (9).
