Mfg. micro-vial using standard glass processing machine

摘要

Using a flat rotor glass processing machine, a micro-vial is mfd. from a glass tube cut to a length twice the length of a vial. A vial head is fused on to each end of the tube and a double insert tube with a constriction in the middle is put into the outer tube. A funnel formed at one end allows the insert to be correctly positioned. The double insert is then cut through the centre, forming two micro-vials, on each of which a base is formed. Also claimed is the appts. and a method for mfg. a segment, comprising devices already used for the mfr. of conventional segments, in which the core is fastened to rings leaving space for flow of the plastic.
