PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device for parking an automobile compact in size and eliminating the need for long cable and adjustment upon assembly and during the service life of the vehicle. SOLUTION: A braking device for parking an automobile comprises a housing 1 disposed in proximity to a rear cross-sectional part of a vehicle, the housing 1 further comprises a gear wheel 2 and a nut 3 connected coaxially thereto through the gear wheel 2, and the nut 3 is movable to each side of the gear wheel by a translation motion and formed externally and drivingly rotated by the gear wheel. Also, the housing comprises cables 8 and 9, and cables 8 and 9 are connected to braking members extending through the housing on each nut side, and further connected to the nut. As a result, the one-way rotation of the nut engages the braking member, and the other-way rotation of the nut releases the braking member. In addition, an electric motor 16 for drivingly rotating the gear wheel is coupled to a control button 17 operated from the operating position of a vehicle. |
