INK SOURCE POSITIONER FOR AN INK DELIVERY SYSTEM

An ink source positioner for an ink delivery system for a printer (10) using a plurality of differing ink sources (48) comprising a plurality of differing ink sources (48) and first differentiating structures (84) coupled to the plurality of differing ink sources (48) for differentiating the differing ink sources (48), whereby an appropriate ink source (48) can be coupled to a print head (28), the first differentiating structures (84) including openings (86) for affording a visual inspection of the ink sources (48). The ink source positioner further includes a plurality of ink source holders (52) corresponding to the plurality of differing ink sources (48) and the first differentiating structures (84) and having second differentiating structures (88) therein for accepting and positioning corresponding ones of the plurality of differing ink sources (48) for coupling to the print head (28). The second differentiating structures include a plurality of depressed bars (89) for preventing insertion of non corresponding ones of the plurality of differing ink sources (48) and for inhibiting insertion of foreign objects.
