PURPOSE: To always keep stable fixability in accordance with a change in the kind of recording material and environmental condition. CONSTITUTION: This fixing device is provided with a heating member 1 and a pressure member 2 which are rotated while coming into contact with each other and constituted so that the recording material 3 on which an unfixed toner image is formed is inserted through between these members 1 and 2, to fix the unfixed toner image. A first temperature sensor 4 is disposed on the surface on the upstream side from the heating member 1 across the nip part between the heating member 1 and the pressure member 2 and a second temperature sensor 5 is disposed on the surface of the downstream side from the heating member 1 as well. A supplied power control means 6 for variably setting power supplied by the heating source 1a of the heating member 1 based on detection information from the respective temperature sensors 4 and 5 is provided and moreover, a set temperature control means 7 for variably setting the set temp. of the heating source 1a of the heating member 1 based on the detection information of the respective temperature sensors 4 and 5 is provided as well. |
