The connector has a pinion (12) which slides on a driven shaft and is connected to a movable dowel (32) driven for rotation by a separator actuated by centrifugal force and carrying weights (42). the latter are forked and cooperate with a ring (44) of complementary form connected to the dowel. The ring is mounted to slide radially in an annular space in the pinion defined by a transverse base wall and a cylindrical external wall. The weights are each guided in a recess (50) in the annular space in the gear.
