In the production of printed matter, e.g. publicity material and the like, processing steps like stamping, perforating, adhesive application, transverse cutting and the like are performed at individual stations (12, 18) on a continuous-feed flexible material web (2) along a processing section (7). The material web (2) is conveyed at a substantially constant speed from an intake unit fitted in front of the processing section (7) in the direction of transport to the processing section (7) and taken through the processing section (7) at a substantially constant travelling speed. At least some of the processing stations (12) are fitted with pairs of traction rollers (13). The tractive force exerted thereby on the material web (2) can be adjusted for the processing station (12) concerned - independently of the others - depending on the processing step to be performed at the processing station concerned. |
