Unit for forming tubes, esp. steel tubes in a tube welding unit, in which a strip is continuously bent into the required shape by adjustable forming rolls arranged in groups one after the other and arranged opposite each other at the sides of the tube to be formed. The individual forming rolls of each group are fixed into their corresponding positions after adjustment. The unit is novel in that each forming roll (2) on a central bored holder (1) is supported in a fork (3), which can be rotated about an axis (11) running at right angles to the longitudinal axis (10) of the central bore (9) and which can be displaced in the axial direction. The equiaxial bores (9) of the holders (1) of one group of forming rolls (2) are penetrated by a common tie rod (15) which causes the faces of the holders (1) to be pressed against one another.
