摘要 PURPOSE: To reduce a ventilating resistance for a heat exchanger and improve the total heat exchanging efficiency of an air conditioner by a method wherein the length of fore row slits, arrayed in parallel in fore-and-rear direction to constitute the sub suction ports of the heat exchanger, is formed so as to be longer than that of rear row slits. CONSTITUTION: The heat exchanger 4 of an outdoor machine 1 is formed of a main heat exchanging unit, coped with a main suction port, having wide opening area and much amount of suction air, and a sub heat exchanging unit, coped with a sub suction port 11, bent with respect to the main suction port in the shape of L and having smaller opening area. The sub suction port 11 is constituted of a plurality of slits 12a, 12b arranged in parallel to each other in the fore-and-rear direction thereof while the length (a) of the fore row slits 12a is formed so as to be longer than that (b) of the rear row slits 12b. According to this method, a ventilation resistance for the heat exchanger 4 can be reduced and the total heat exchanging efficiency of the heat exchanger 4 can be increased.
