PURPOSE: To provide a coordinate data processing method and device capable of outputting coordinate data with high resolution without reducing the processing speed of a connected computer equipment. CONSTITUTION: Detailed coordinate data indicating a specified coordinate position are generated from a digitizer controller 42 at a prescribed time interval and successively stored in a coordinate memory 45. The coordinate data stored in the memory 45 are thinned out at a prescribed interval and the thinned data are read out and outputted to the computer equipment 47 as rough coordinate data. At the time of receiving a transmission request for detailed coordinate data including the positional information of the coordinate data, the detailed coordinate data stored in the memory 45 are read out in accordance with the received transmission request and outputted to the equipment 47.
