A building element in the form of a brick or block (10) having a head portion (11) with a part cylindrical wall (13) and a tail portion (12) with a part cylindrical concave trailing wall (15) complementary to the wall (13). The bricks or blocks (10) may be arranged such that the wall (15) of one block (10) mates with the wall (13) of an adjacent block (10). The bricks or blocks (10) may be used for forming edging or for the construction of walls. For the construction of walls, the bricks or blocks (10) may be provided with complementary protrusions and recesses on the top and underside of the head portion (11) respectively.
