PRODUCTION OF EMBOSSING PLATE, EMBOSSING PLATE AND EMBOSSED DECORATIVE SHEET AND DECORATIVE PLATE USING THAT PLATE

PURPOSE: To provide an embossing plate to produce a decorative sheet or decorative plate having almost the same texture and appearance as natural wood. CONSTITUTION: A rugged pattern of natural wood is photographed by using a continuous tone film and is decomposed into dots to obtain a film original 12 for tone embossing. The obtd. original 12 is printed onto a photosensitive resin layer 11 applied on an embossing plate material 10, and is developed, then the unexposed part is removed to obtain a resist layer 11'. Next, the embossing plate material 10 is etched with an etching liquid to form a rugged pattern in the embossing plate material 10. A photosensitive resin layer 11 is applied again on the whole surface of the embossing plate material 10 having a rugged pattern. The pattern of the natural wood is photographed onto a lithographic film and the size of projecting parts is varied to obtain a film original 13 for black-and-while embossing. The obtd. original 13 is printed onto the photosensitive resin while making match with the rugged pattern of the embossing plate material 19 and is developed to form a resist layer 11'. Then, the embossing plate material 10 is etched again with an etching liquid.
