Letterbox connection between front plate and housing

Letterbox connection (1) having a basic body (2) in which a locking bar (5a,b) is mounted to move between a free position and a fixed position. The basic body has a spring (3a,b) for insertion into a groove (27a,b) in the letterbox front plate (26). The locking bar is so spaced at a distance from the spring that a gap (22a,b) is created to receive the squared off edge (28a,b) of the letterbox housing, allowing the locking bar when in the fixed position to grip behind the edge.
