PURPOSE: To provide a mirror rotating device of a light deflecting device by which a rotating polygon mirror is arbitrarily stopped and rotated during the inspection and the adjustment of optical systems, such as a polygon mirror. CONSTITUTION: A mirror rotating member 9 has a rotating shaft 14 and is freely rotatably placed on an adjustment jig 24 which is separately provided on a light deflecting device. An elastic member 13 covers and opening of the upper section of a cover member 1 and hermetically seals the space constituted by a motor housing 3 and the member 1. A convex section 15 is provided on the upper section of a rotating body 8 and when the member 9 is pushed down, is connected to a tip 14' of the member 9 sandwiching the member 13. When the member 9 is rotated, the body 8, on which the section 15 is placed, is rotated following the member 9. By this constitution, the body 8 is rotated to an arbitrary position while keeping the airtight condition of the inner section of the light deflection device. Moreover, damage to a rotating polygon mirror 5 and the occurrence of malfunction caused by dust are prevented and the constitution of the light deflection device itself is made smaller and simpler. |
