PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the sensitivity of a receiver by providing a memory storing tentatively a message.data in a decoder. CONSTITUTION:The selective call receiver is brought into the reception state without operating a CPU 6 and a peripheral circuit, and all of one message.data is fetched by a decoder 4 and stored tentatively in the decoder 4. After the end of fetch of the message.data is finished, the CPU 6 and the peripheral circuit start their operation, the message.data is received by the decoder 4 at high speed operation of the CPU 6, the display of message ringing tone and the data is stored in an external memory. Thus, the deterioration in the sensitivity is prevented.
