<p>PURPOSE: To improve the hitting feel, controllability, durability and flying performance of a golf ball by composing a base material resin forming the cover of this golf ball of a mixture composed of prescribed mixing ratios of prescribed plural copolymer resins. CONSTITUTION: The base resin of the cover 2 is composed of the mixture composed of the resins I to III. The ratio of the resin I + the resin II is specified to 60 to 83wt.% and the ratio of the resin I thereof to 33 to 80wt.% and the ratio of the resin II to 3 to 50wt.%. The ratio of the resin III is specified to 17 to 40wt.%. The modulus of flexural rigidity (modulus of rigidity) of this compsn. is set at 1000 to 2000kg/cm<2> . The resin I is formed of a zinc ion neutralized ionomer resin of a ternary copolymer of ethylene, methacrylic acid and an acrylic ester having a modulus of flexural rigidity of 700 to 1200kg/cm<2> . The resin II is formed of the zinc ion neutralized ionomer resin of a copolymer of ethylene and methacrylic acid or acrylic acid having a modulus of flexural rigidity of 2500 to 5000kg/cm<2> . The resin III is formed of an alkali metal ion neutralized ionomer resin of the copolymer similar to the copolymer of the resin II having a modulus of flexural rigidity of 2300 to 5000kg/cm<2> .</p> |
