MUSCLE PROTEIN DECOMPOSITION INHIBITOR CONTAINING IL-6 RECEPTOR ANTIBODY

A muscle protein decomposition inhibitor containing an interleukin-6 receptor antibody (IL-6R antibody) exemplified by antibodies of animals other than man, such as mouse or rat, chimeric antibodies comprising the above antibodies and human antibodies, and reconstituted human antibodies. The inhibitor is useful for inhibiting muscle protein decomposition occurring in such disease as cancerous cachexia, severe septicemic trauma and muscular dystrophy.
