FLAME-RESISTANT POLYSTYRENE RESIN AND THE PREPARATION PROCESS THEREOF

The method prepares a flame-retardant polystyrene resin of good flame-retardant property by employing a small amount of flame-retardant agent, without degrading other physical properties. The resin comprises a combination of paraffin chloride, antimony oxide, and heat-dilatory graphite used as a flame-retardant agent, wherein said polystyrene resin containing, per 100 parts by weight thereof : (A) 5 to 40 parts by weight of the gross amount of the paraffin chloride, antimony oxide and heat-dilatory graphite; (B) per total resin composition, 1 to 20 parts by weight of the gross chloride content. The equivalent ratio of used amount of said paraffin chloride to heat-dilatory graphite is 4:1 or 1:4, and the ratio of used amount of antimony oxide to the gross of used amount of paraffin chloride and heat-dilatory graphite being 0.05 to 2.
