<p>The objective of this invention is to provide a tightening knob, in particular a secure tightening knob for fixing ski carriers. A base (12) is inserted into a tightening knob section (11) so that it can axially slide and rotate to operate a tightening bolt (6). In a first sliding position, wherein the knob section (11) protrudes, the knob section (11) and the base (12) can be integrally rotated, whereas in a second sliding position, where the knob section (11) does not protrude, the knob section (11) and the base (12) can rotate substantially freely relative to each other.
