PURPOSE: To deal with environmental change by improving the volume efficiency of a cartridge and preventing the ink leakage due to the volume expansion of inner gas. CONSTITUTION: An ink tank 3 is partitioned to a main tank 5 for directly storing ink 2, a sub-tank 6 for storing ink by impregnating into a porous material 8, and an ink supply chamber 7 for containing a filter 10, and a print head 4 is disposed at the lower surface. The tank 5 is connected to the lower part of the tank 6 by an ink connecting tube 12 made of a fine tube of the degree capable of generating a capillary force. The tank 6 holds the ink holding amount larger than the maximum ink amount overflowing from the tank 5 due to the volume expansion of the gas in the tank 5, and communicates with the atmosphere via an atmosphere introducing hole 11. The tank 5 communicates with the orifice of the head 4 via the chamber 7 and an ink supply passage 13. |
