PURPOSE: To parentally forbid a display of only a specified area in the whole video picture of video data recorded on a recording medium. CONSTITUTION: A video signal, plural sound streams and plural title streams are recorded in block on an optical disk 1 together with a format management information including selectively parental control flags 111, 112 and 113 corresponding to the above data, respectively. When the flag 111 corresponding to the video signal is detected from a block data at the time of reproducing, picture size conversion processing is performed by a picture size forcibly converting circuit 11 in order to forbid the display of a specified area in the whole video picture of this video signal. Then, by detecting the flag 112, reproducing of a part of a sound stream in the sound stream group can parentally be forbidden, and similarly, by detecting the flag 113, a part of a title stream in the title stream group can parentally be forbidden. |
