PURPOSE: To provide a printer, copier, etc., as computer peripheral units with a curl correcting device enabling the stable conveyance of sheets regardless of the sheet sort, quantity, etc., sensing the curls of the sheets automatically and cable of correcting the curls automatically in two directions. CONSTITUTION: A pair of variable rollers 1 are fixed to a moving mechanism 21 and moves up and down with respect to the transport direction of a sheet 23 while they are pinching transport belts 11, 12. The moving direction and amount are determined automatically by the curling direction and magnitude of the sheet sensed by a position sensor 8. Because the sheet 23 runs in the condition pinched by the transport belts 11 and 12, transport is made along their configuration. The transport belts 11 and 12 are driven through a timing belt 10 by a motor, and a tension always constant is generated by tension rollers 13 and 14 mounted on springs 15 and 16. |
