PURPOSE: To provide a gas diffusion electrode for fuel cell, which is low in degradation of catalytic function and excellent in catalytic activity. CONSTITUTION: A carbon sheet subjected to hydrophobic treatment is impregnated with an alcohol solution containing as a dissolved specimen a platinum ammine complex expressed by a formula [Pt (NH3 )x (NO2 )y L] Az , and then is reduced in the hydrogen gas atmosphere. In the formula, L represents an alcoxy group, alkanoil group, or alkanoiloxy group, A represents H, NO2 or NO3 , (x) is 0, 1 or 2, and (y) is 1, 2 or 3. The sum of (x) and (y) is 3-5 varied according to an electric charge of core platinum, and (z) is (y-1) to (y-3) varied according to the electric charge of core metal. |
