PURPOSE: To check a battery accurately and easily. CONSTITUTION: In a normal state, an AC power from an AC power supply 1 is converted into a DC power by a converter circuit 2 and the DC power is again converted into an AC power by an inverter circuit 9 and supplied to a load 10. A battery 8 is charged by the DC power from the converter circuit 2. In order to check the battery, a battery check request signal 13A or 13B is inputted to a battery check start controller 14 which outputs a battery check control signal 15. With this constitution, a battery discharge controller 16 controls the converter circuit 2 so as to have the discharge current of the battery 8 constant. At that time, if a load capacity is too small to supply a power to the load side, the converter circuit 2 is made to perform a regenerative operation to supply a power to the AC power supply 1 side. Thus, in accordance with the change of a battery voltage Vb when the battery is discharged with a constant current, a battery check circuit 17 decides the normality or abnormality of the battery 8. |
