PURPOSE:To prevent an ink from being left in a slit in non-printing condition wherein the printer is left to stand for a long period of time, by a construction wherein an ink-supplying means is constituted of a slit formed by opposed spaced members, and the ink is removed from the slit in non-printing condition. CONSTITUTION:With a main power source thrown in, an electric current is passed to a magnet 33 to magnetize a magnetic pole 30, thereby magnetically affracting the ink 43 from the interiro of an ink tank 41 into the slit. This condition is maintained throughout printing, and when the printing is completed, passage of the electric current to the magnet 33 is cut off after about 10min or longer from the final printing operation, thereby returning the ink 43 into the tank 41. In the case of suspension of printing for a period of time shorter than about 10min, the power source is not cut off, so that the ink film is again formed immediately after a printing signal is inputted. When the power source is cut off, the ink 43 immediately flows out into the tank 41. Accordingly, the ink is not left in the slit in the non-printing condition wherein the printer is left to stand for a long period of time. |
