PURPOSE: To obtain a process for production of color filter which is short in stages and high in productivity and realizes a cost reduction while decreasing unequal colors, i.e., maintaining high display quality. CONSTITUTION: This process has a pretreatment stage for a body 14 to be transferred to provide the surface of a base plate 10 with a thermosensitive adhesive layer 12 and a colored pattern forming stage consisting of a tight contact stage for superposing a transfer body 20 provided with a photosensitive colored transfer layer 18 which is improved in adhesion property to a substrate 16 by irradiation with radiation on the substrate 16 in such a manner that the photosensitive colored transfer layer 18 comes into tight contact with the thermosensitive adhesive layer 12 of the body to be transferred, an exposing stage for using a mask 22 which has with shielding parts 24 corresponding to colored patterns formed on color filters and is provided with heating elements 42 in these shielding parts and irradiating the photosensitive colored transfer layer 18 with radiation via the mask 22, a heating stage for heating the parts corresponding to the shielding parts of the thermosensitive adhesive layer by the heating elements and a peeling stage for forming the non-exposed parts 28 of the photosensitive colored transfer layer onto the body to be transferred by peeling the substrate 16 of the body to be transferred and the exposed parts 30 irradiated with the radiation of the photosensitive colored transfer layer 18 from the body to be transferred. |
