PURPOSE: To form a coating film with excellent stain resistance and heat resistance in a short time on the inner face of a solid article to be coated such as a cylinder and a can by coating the inner face of the solid with a coating compsn. wherein a fluororesin, a heat-resistant resin and a solvent are main components and irradiating the coated face with infrared rays while gas is fed thereon. CONSTITUTION: When a coating film is formed on the inner faces of various solids such as cylindrical and can-like ones, the inner face of the solid article is coated with a coating compsn. by means of a coating method such as a spraying machine and a roll coating machine. Then, the coated face on the inner side of the solid article is irradiated with infrared rays while a gas, pref., air at ordinary temp. is fed thereon to dry the coated face and to form a coating film. As the infrared rays radiated, near infrared rays and intermediate infrared rays with which conversion efficiency of heat energy is high and high temp. is easily obtd. are pref. and a range with the max. energy wave length of 0.8-8.0μm is especially pref. The pressure of a gas blown thereinto differs depending on the wave length of the infrared rays radiated and when the max. energy wave length of the infrared rays is 0.8-8.0μm, a range of 0.01-5kg/m<2> is pref.
