The system, for mounting e.g. in the flat base of a hopper (1), incorporates an auger (3) which delivers the material to an outlet (4), and a series of scrapers (8) which push the material towards the auger in a reciprocating motion.The scrapers are in contact with the collecting surface (8) of the base during their advancing movement and are lifted above the surface on their return movement. The amplitude of their movements is smaller than the distance between adjacent scrapers. The auger extends parallel to one wall of the base, and the outlet (4) is situated in one corner.
