Interior and exterior fan inlets (3,4) are opened and closed selectively by means of a servomotor-operated flap (5). A centrifugal blower (8) driven by another motor (9) forces the air through an evaporative cooler (13) and a heater (14) with a deflector plate (15) and mixing flaps (17a,17b) in air ducts (18a,18b) directed towards the driver and front-seat passenger respectively. Each duct leads to a face-level outlet (19a,19b) and a floor-level outlet (20a,20b) with corresp. flaps (22,23). On th driver's side an additional flap (24) provides for defrosting. The control unit responds to sensors of air and engine temps. and sunlight.
