摘要 PURPOSE: To switch the running mode from the series hybrid running to the parallel hybrid running without the switching shock by a method wherein, when a clutch is closed, a generator torque is so controlled as to have the revolution of a generator and the revolution of a motor practically agree with each other. CONSTITUTION: An ECU 32 opens the mechanical coupling between a generator 12 and a motor 14 with a clutch 16 to make a series/parallel composite electric vehicle (SPHV) run as a series composite electric vehicle (SHV) and closes the mechanical coupling between the generator 12 and the motor 14 with the clutch 16 to make the SPHV run as a parallel hybrid vehicle (PHV) while one of the generator 12 and the motor 14 is used for acceleration/deceleration. When the clutch 16 is closed, the ECU 32 controls the torque of the generator 12 so as to make the revolution of the generator 12 and the revolution of the motor 14 practically agree with each other. With this constitution, the running mode can be switched from the SHV running to the PHV running without the switching shock.
