Thermoplastic components butt welding for polypropylene plates

In a process for butt welding two plastic components: (a) the latter are positioned on two clamping tables (4) against an aligning tool (6), (b) clamped (9) in position, and (c) a heating tool (10) moves between the component end faces to heat the plastic to a fusible state. After removing the heater (10) the tables (4) are moved together to press the component faces together. After cooling the single welded component remains clamped to table(s) (4) and welding bead(s) (3) are cut away before releasing the clamps (9).
