METHOD FOR MIXING REINFORCING FIBER BUNDLE WITH POWDER RESIN

PURPOSE: To fibrillate the reinforcing fiber bundles at a high efficiency without breaking the reinforcing fibers to mix the same with a powder resin. CONSTITUTION: The reinforcing fiber bundles of a specific length are fibrillated to be mixed with a powder resin mainly composed of a thermoplastic resin by an air jet. The reinforcing fiber bundles A and the powder resin B are supplied into a mixing chamber 11. A first air jet is blown to a supply port and thereabouts in the mixing chamber 11 to fibrillate the reinforcing fiber bundles A. A second air jet J2 is blown to the center of the mixing chamber 11 from a position downstream of the position of blowing the first air jet J2 to mix the reinforcing fiber bundles A with the powder resin B with the increase of the fibrillation degree of the reinforcing fiber bundles A.
