The present invention relates to a fireproof door which comprises a door leaf and fitting means used to fit the door leaf movably at an opening in a wall of a building. The door leaf comprises a core of wood fibreboard and on at least one side is faced with plasterboard, on top of which a decorative panel (ornamental panel) may be arranged. Against the edge of the door leaf, a layer of fireproof material may be disposed, said layer being encompassed, together with the edge of the door leaf, by a U-shaped profile of metal plate.
