In the bearing system for an open end spinning rotor, the bearing pedestal carries the supporting disc bearing (122) through an intermediate carrier (3), which is secured to the bearing pedestal (2) by a release mounting. The intermediate carrier (3) can be dismantled from the bearing (1) while the bearing pedestal (2) with the bearing carriers (161) remains in place, mounted to the machine frame (16).
