PURPOSE:To reduce trigger voltage by installing a trigger electrode along the cathodes with a homogeneous first dielectric layer interposed and installing stripe-like second dielectric layers between the first dielectric layer and the cathodes. CONSTITUTION:An electric discharge display panel 10 is constituted of a front glass base plate 1, a back glass base plate 2, and XY matrix-form anodes 3 and cathodes 4 facing each other with an electric discharge space allowed between them. Stripe-like second dielectric layers 11 are installed under cathodes 4. A trigger electrode 7 is installed, parallel to the cathode 4, under the dielectric layer 11 with a first dielectric layer 6 with homogeneous thickness interposed. Because of the above structure, wall voltage induced on areas of the first dielectric layer 6 located between the cathodes 4 during trigger electric discharge, can be increased, thereby reducig trigger voltage and improving the life of an electric discharge display device. |
