A polarised beam-splitter (PBS) (60) has a partial reflector at 45 degrees to the optical axis (A3). Light with a P-waveform is transmitted whilst light with an S-waveform is reflected. When this is re-flected by the zoom lens system (10-50) the PBS (60) reflects it to the viewfinder (100-130). Light entering the viewfinder also falls on the PBS (60). Light with an S-waveform is reflected. Light with a P-waveform passes through the partial reflector (60a). Light re-reflected from the zoom lens system (10-50) is deflected back to the viewfinder and does not reach the optical low pass filter (70).
