PURPOSE: To provide an electrochemical cell equipped with a discharge life indicator and provided with an extended voltage sustaining duration near the discharge service life (EOS). CONSTITUTION: This battery comprises a negative electrode, containing an active metal such as lithium, an organic solvent-containing electrolytic solution, and a positive electrode containing manganese dioxide and/or monofluorocarbon. Second positive electrode substances βAgxV2O5, δAgxV2O5, Ag2V4O11, BiF3, TiS2 in specified ratios are added to a selected primary positive electrode substance (MnO2 and/or CFX) to suppress voltage decrease, as compared with that containing only the primary positive electrode substance MnO2, CFX and to extend the voltage-sustaining duration near the EOS, that is a, voltage- sustaining time capacity near the EOS. |
