OPTICAL FIBER WATER LEVEL ALARM

PURPOSE:To provide a water level alarm which functions surely upon increase of water level and with which remote monitoring can be realized without requir ing any power supply or transmitter at the detecting section. CONSTITUTION:A hermetically sealed container 8 containing quick lime 18 is provided with a rupturing part 13 and the sensor fiber 2 of an optical fiber temperature distribution measuring apparatus is wound around the container. A float 7 having a protrusion 16 is disposed below. When the water level increases and the protrusion 16 pierces the rupturing part 13, water intrudes into the container and the quick lime 18 reacts with water to generate heat which is monitored by the optical fiber temperature distribution measuring apparatus.
