The interconnection network is for connecting a number of parallel circuit boards, each board having a coherent light source (16(1i)..), a diode laser, and a photoelectric receiver (18(1i)..). Opposite each emitter is an isosceles right-angled microprism (20(1i)) with a reflecting layer of aluminium or silver. At the other end of the optical path, a digital hologram comprising a matrix of pixels transmits some of the beam and focuses another part on the respective receiver. The distributors are made of a glass structure, separated from the boards by a transparent filler. The boards are separated by a standard spacing of 12.7 mm and the gap between two channels is about 625 micrometres with a width in each channel of 30 micrometres.
