<p>Ischemic disorders of the retina and associated tissues of the posterior segment of the eye are treated by topical administration to the eye of an amount of a calcium channel blocking agent effective to increase blood flow to those tissues. Calcium channel blocking agents of Class I are especially useful, and among these a preferred agent is verapamil hydrochloride.</p> |
