PURPOSE:To provide a support device for learning or document preparation which can specify an error while considering the importance of the error. CONSTITUTION:The support device provided with an error detecting means 2 for detecting the spelling or grammar of an input sentence and an information display means 5 for displaying an explanation for the detected error and allowed to support learning or document preparation is also provided with an importance judging means 3 for judging the importance of an error and constituted so that the means 5 displays the explanations of errors in the descending order of importance. In respect to the importance of an error, an item learning on the initial stage of learning in the learning supporting device is set up to a high value. When a student generates plural errors, the errors are successively pointed out from a basic error, so that the student can receive explanations along a flow of learning and easily understand the learning. The importance of an error causing misunderstanding to an opposite party is set up to a high value.
