PURPOSE:To provide a position measuring apparatus at a low cost which can realize quick measurement and positioning. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus has a first reflection target 12 and a first GPS receiver 14 set at a first point K1 a coordinate value of which is already known. A second reflection target 18 is set at a second point K2 coordinate value of which is also known. An unknown point P is set on a working ship 10 which loads a total station 20 and a second GPS receiver 22 thereon. Moreover, a digital data receiver 24 for receiving satellite signal data transmitted from a digital data signal transmitter 16 and an operating/processing device 26 are set on the ship 10. The second GPS receiver 22 and the digital data receiver 24 are connected to the device 26. When a measurement is started, a coordinate value of an unknown point P0 started to be measured is obtained by the device 26 from a measured value of a distance between the first and second points K1 and K2. At the same time, a coordinate value of the unknown point after the start of the measurement is obtained on the basis of satellite signal data of the first and second GPS receivers 14 and 22. |
