PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust gas purifying material capable of efficiently reducing and removing nitrogen oxide and also oxidizing and removing carbon monoxide and a hydrocarbon from combustion exhaust gas containing oxygen much more than the quantity of theoretical reaction with nitrogen oxide or unburnt portion such as carbon monoxide. CONSTITUTION:Nitrogen oxide is reduced and removed by using the exhaust gas purifying material composed of a 1st catalyst, which is obtained by making (a) a silver component and (b) at least one kind of element selected from a group composed of Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ir and Au supported with a porous inorganic oxide, and a 2nd catalyst, which is obtained by making (c) an oxide of at least one kind of an element selected from a group composed of W, V, Mn, Mo, Nb and Ta and (d) at least one kind of an element selected from a group composed of Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ir and Au supported with the porous inorganic oxide, and adding a hydrocarbon and/or an oxygen containing organic compound as a reducing agent from the outside to the exhaust gas. |
