PURPOSE:To enhance the continuous operability by using a base sheet which has a specific weighing and freeness and in which loading material in the sheet has a specific relationship to the freeness in a cast-coated sheet formed by pressing a recording layer to a mirror finished surface heated while it is wet. CONSTITUTION:A cast-coated sheet for ink jet recording is formed by coating at least one side surface of a base sheet with a recording layer containing pigment having synthetic silica as a main ingredient and binder, pressing it to a mirror finished surface heated while the layer is in the wet state, and drying it. In this case, the sheet has weighing of 80-150g/m<2>, freeness of 290-450mI, and loading material in the sheet of 28-(freeness/20) <= loading material quantity (A%) <=32(freeness/20). Synthetic silica in the pigment is set to a range of 40-100wt.%. The BET coated surface area of the silica is 200-600m<2>/g. |
