<p>A method of preparing tetraphydroisoalpha acids from beta acids wherein undesired impurities are removed. Beta acids are hydrogenated in a (C1-C6)alkanol oxidized and isomerized to produce tetrahydroisoalpha acids. The improvement comprises using a high boiling point solvent to remove the (C1-C6)alkanoyl by azeotrope prior to isomerization.</p> |
